About (Biography)
I'm proud to be a fourth generation Texan, and no matter where I travel in this big old world, or where I hang my hat, Texas will always be home.

When I was growing up, there was a nursery rhyme song with lyrics that went:
"...Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Sailor, Rich Man, Poor Man, Beggerman, Thief, Doctor, Lawyer, Indian Chief..."

I look back now and see that my life has had that same kind of wonderful diversity and variety.

For the past 15 years I've been a private investigator and had the good fortune of working cases all over the United States, as well as throughout Latin America and Southeast Asia.  Before that, I lived in South America for several years, exploring the jungles of the Amazon basin in search of gold and lost treasure.  I've also been a banker, salesman, promoter, repo man, bouncer, bodyguard, radio personality and writer.

If someone asked me what I do now, I think I'd have to say:  Investigator, Writer, World Traveler, Renegade, Rogue & Raconteur.   And without a doubt, I'm having the time of my life.

There's an old poem attributed to Domingo Ortega, a Spanish poet and bullfighter:

Bullfight critics, ranked in rows,
Crowd the enormmous plaza full.
But only one is there who knows,
And he's the man that fights the bull.

I believe life is too precious and too short to ever be satisfied being a vicarious observer.  I hope I can always be that man in the ring, fighting the bull.
Mercenary Intent is my first novel, and it truly was a dream come true to see it published.  I'm currently at work on the next Damien Chance adventure, and looking forward to it being available in early 2010.

I've been published in P.I. Magazine, Gold Prospector and The International California Mining Journal.  I also write a regular column for Blitz Weekly.
